COMMUNITY COLLABORATIONS IN SEATTLE
We collaborate with local nonprofits throughout the Seattle area to further extend our reach in immigrant, refugee and homeless communities.
Blanket driveWe had a successful blanket drive in Seattle with more than 100 warm blankets and around 100 sets of gloves, hats, socks collected from the generous citizens of Sammamish, Washington. These were donated to the Refugee Women’s Alliance (ReWA) in Seattle in support of its work to resettle refugee families and to the REACH Center of Hope family shelter in Renton, Washington.

School backpack driveWe helped fill 67 backpacks with school essentials for homeless children throughout Seattle. We
worked with the Everett Gospel Mission, Sacred Heart Shelter Seattle, Salt House Kirkland, Mary's Place Seattle, and REACH Center for Hope in Renton to achieve this. Helping 67 kids start a new school year confidently with the supplies they need is always very gratifying! |
Book donationWe collected nearly 600 books for an elementary school in a low-income neighborhood in Kent,
Washington. Each of the 440 children was able to select a book for themselves for the summer; the library and classrooms received books for all children to use long-term. We also donated socks, underwear, soap, lotion, deodorant, shampoo, body wash, toothbrushes, and toothpaste for the children of families in need at this school. |
ASSISTING KIDS AT A FAMILY SHELTERWe are glad to continue our partnership with the REACH Center of Hope Family Shelter in Renton,
Washington. They reached out to us with the need for rain boots, raincoats, laundry detergent, training bras, and school clothing for elementary-age kids. We are glad to be able to help keep more kids warm and dry during our rainy winters! |
DIAPERS FOR REFUGEE CHILDRENWe provided a month supply of diapers and wipes to 11 kids ranging in age from newborn to 4 years. These kids are from refugee families who had to flee under extreme circumstances from Ethiopia, Eritrea, Jordan, Syria, and Iraq. Babies of Homelessness connected us to these families to fill this urgent need.
